Background Information on the Ingredients in Lysine Ultra™ Formula:

No doubt, herpes is no fun. Painful, embarrassing, frustrating, irritating and just a general bother, there are few things that can make you feel less in control of your life than herpes, oral or genital.

As you no doubt already know, there is no cure for herpes, pharmaceutical or otherwise. However, there are natural supplements, which combined together can provide significant aid in the fight to control and reduce your herpes outbreaks. That is why we designed LyHealth™. It’s a powerful weapon in controlling herpes outbreaks. The name is discrete by design, as requested by some of our customers.

L-Lysine:

L-Lysine is an amino acid. In Vitro tests have shown that significantly increased dosages of L-Lysine and reduced levels of Arginine can slow or repress herpes simplex virus activity. In Vivo (in the body) its not so clear. Several studies have shown a positive correlation between increased L-Lysine consumption and reduced herpes outbreaks and several studies have shown no correlation. Our conclusion, based on the evidence, is that it varies from individual to individual and that for many people it does have a therapeutic effect. L-Lysine comes from red meats, poultry, fish and dairy products, but effective supplementation requires significant dosages. If you are eating the foregoing products, we suggest a supplement of 2-3 capsules of LyHealth™ per day. If you are a vegetarian or don’t consume much L-Lysine naturally, we suggest 3-5 capsules per day. Also, note that Arginine consumption seems to counteract L-Lysine’s benefits so keep consumption of chocolate (ouch, that hurts!), nuts, peas and cereals (all relatively high in Arginine) to a minimum. 1-15

Vitamin C:

Limited studies have shown that Vitamin C can reduce the incidences and severity of herpes outbreaks. In Vitro studies have shown that, like L-Lysine, Vitamin C can slow herpes virus activity. 18,19,20

Olive Leaf Extract ( Olea europaea):

The critical ingredient in Olive Leaf Extract is Flavonoids. Some studies have shown that a combination of Flavonoids with Vitamin C can significantly reduce the incidence of herpes outbreaks, in one study a reduction of 57% was achieved. Additionally, Olive Leaf Extract has long been used traditionally to speed healing and overall immunity health, perhaps playing an antiviral role. 16,17,21,22

Zinc:

Topical zinc treatment has shown an ability to treat herpes sores. Oral consumption is less clear, although many of the same principles concerning topical zinc treatment should apply. Because it is a critical component, together with enzymes, to help the body heal wounds, oral consumption should speed your bodies ability to heal after an outbreak, should one occur.

Side Effects
There can be occasional gastric discomfort, which can be ameliorated by taking LyHealth™ with food.
