Tea Tree Oil Extract (2 fl.oz., 59.1ml)
What is Tea Tree Oil?
Tea Tree oil is derived from the leaves of the tree, Melaleuca alternifolia, which grows in the northeastern coastal region of New South Wales, Australia and nowhere else. Tea Tree Oil can be used for pimples and acne, fungal infections such as tinea ("athlete's foot", "jock itch", and "ringworm"), Candida, and nail fungus, mouth sores, boils, carbuncles, corns, gingivitis, insect bites, psoriasis, minor cuts and scrapes, and other skin related ailment a person may suffer.

Why Is Our Tea Tree Oil Better?
Our 100% pure (undiluted) Tea Tree Oil comes from the steam-distilled leaves of the tree Melaleuca alternifolia, sustainably grown on a family farm in New South Wales, Australia.

The Australian government sets the standard (AS 2782-1985) for tea tree oil quality at a minimum content of 30% terpinen-4-ol, and a maximum content of 15% 1,8-cineol. We proudly offer Tea Tree Oil that far exceeds this standard, testing at a minimum 40% terpinen-4-ol and a maximum of 3% 1,8-cineol, and which we believe to be the finest available anywhere.

High-quality Tea Tree Oil is not terribly expensive, as you can see, so consumers should avoid products where the manufacturer does not list the terpinen-4-ol and 1,8-cineol concentrations. With such products, there is no way to ascertain product quality.

Who Should Consider Tea Tree Oil?
Tea Tree Oil has been shown to be helpful in the following ways:
  • Helpful in the treatment of pimples and acne
  • Can be used to help in the treatment of fungal infections such as tinea ("athlete's foot", "jock itch", and "ringworm")
  • Helpful in the treatment of Candidiasis3
  • Can help in the treatment of nail fungus, mouth sores, boils, carbuncles, corns, gingivitis, herpes (cold sores), sore throat
  • Helpful for minor cuts and scrapes and insect bites

Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca) -- A wonderful, natural antiseptic

First brought to the attention of the medical community 1930 in The Medical Journal of Australia, there may be no finer topical antiseptic/antifungal ointment. If you are looking for a natural remedy for skin irritations, this is the one. Tea Tree oil is derived from the leaves of the tree, Melaleuca alternifolia, which grows in the northeastern coastal region of New South Wales, Australia and nowhere else.

Studies have shown Tea Tree Oil to have good antifungal and antiseptic properties, good skin penetration and a minimum of allergic reactions (the chief complaint for any antiseptic). Tea Tree Oil is effective at killing most strains of Propionibacterium acnes, Candida albicans, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyrigenes, Trichomonas vaginalis, and Trichophyton mentagrophytes.1

Acne and Tea Tree Oil

A study of 124 patients with varying degrees of acne were randomly treated with either a 5% solution of Tea Tree Oil or 5% benzoyl peroxide. Tea Tree Oil was shown to be as effective (on the mean) as 5% benzoyl peroxide, but with far fewer side effects (such as dryness, itching and redness).2

Candidiasis and Tea Tree Oil

Although we strongly suggest a combined approach that includes echinacea, and we'd like to see a study with a larger sample, the following experimental study was conducted with results as follows: 28 patients with Candida overgrowths used Tea Tree Oil suppositories for one week. Of the 28 at the end of the week, 21 experienced a complete recovery, one dropped out complaining of vaginal burning, and the remainder were asymptomatic.3
