Our Complete Wine Grape Complex contains Fluxome® Trans-Resveratrol from Natural Fermentation
Unlike other forms of resveratrol, Fluxome Resveratrol is an all-natural, minimally-processed ingredient that is produced entirely in the United States, using ingredients entirely produced in the United States.
The production is simple, using only three ingredients: Fluxome's proprietary strain of bakers yeast (Sacchromyces cerevisiae), US-grown and produced non-GMO sugar, and water. The fermentation process is similar to the process used to make beer; a process that has been used for more than decade to produce the highest quality CoEnzyme Q10. After the fermentation process the resveratrol is purified by separating it from the yeast. It is then dried and sifted into a fine powder.

Grape Seed Extract is a source of the polyphenol antioxidant compounds proanthocyanidins and oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPC). OPCs are a type of proanthocyanidin. Both of which are types of bioflavonoid complexes that perform as free radical scavengers in the human body. OPCs may have several benefits to the body besides reducing oxidation, perhaps the most important may be vascular support. Research has indicated that the OPCs in grape seed extract may strengthen blood vessel walls with in minutes of ingestion and may improve cellular health, and cardiovascular health.
Our Complete Wine Grape Complex contains Grape Skin Extract
Like Grape Seed Extract, Grape Skin Extract is a excellent source of the polyphenol antioxidant compounds proanthocyanidins and OPCs. It also naturally contains low levels of resveratrol, around 1%. However grape skin extract contains a broader spectrum of polyphenol compounds than what is found in the grape seed extract, which is focused on OPC content. The grape skin extract helps to "round out" the supplement and offer some "lesser known" polyphenols.

Quercetin is a flavonoid and antioxidant that natural occurs in many plants, most notably red grapes, green tea, and onions. Quercetin is commonly used for a number of issues including high cholesterol, seasonal allergies and immune support. As different as those applications may seem, there may be one common underlying cause which links them together, and that is inflammation.
Preliminary research indicates that quercetin may be effective in helping to reduceinflammation by inhibiting inflammatory agents such as histamine, leukotrienes and prostaglandins. quercetin may also slow COX-2 production. Direct study of the effects of quercetin and other flavonoids on allergies appear favorable. This is likely due to quercetin's histamine and leukotriene modulating effect. It is this modulation of inflammation-inducing compounds that likely yields quercetin's overall effect.

Rutin is structurally similar to quercetin and is sometimes considered a form of quercetin. One thing that is clear is that rutin works in conjunction with quercetin. Not surprisingly it exhibits many of the same beneficial properties. Rutin is an antioxidant that shows anti-inflammatory activity. It also has significant cardiovascular benefits, it has been shown to strengthen capillaries, reduce the toxicity of oxidized LDL cholesterol, reduce oxidized LDL cholesterol blood levels and as a result it may lower the risk of certain cardiovascular diseases.

Resveratrol is believed to be the plants' natural defense against adverse growing conditions and fungal attacks. While resveratrol is commonly found in red wine, it is only available in small amounts and those amounts vary greatly from wine to wine and bottle to bottle.1

Resveratrol & Longevity
Resveratrol has been in the news over the last few years due to the results of several animal studies that found a link between resveratrol intake and significantly extended life spans. So far those studies have not been conducted on long-lived animals like humans. But the results of the animal studies are impressive to say the least. In 2003 researchers found that resveratrol increased the life span of a yeast by 70%.2 A follow-up 2006 study found a 56% increase in life span among a particular worm, Caenorhabditis elegans, and the common fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster.3 In 2006, a study of a short-lived fish also found an extension of the animals' lives and revealed that the resveratrol delayed the onset of age-related markers.4,5 But the real break-through news on resveratrol came in the form of two studies published in the fall of 2006.6 The first of the two studies was published in the highly regarded scientific journal Nature, and found that resveratrol not only extended life by 40% in lab mice, but those same mice were eating a high calorie, high-fat diet without developing the ill-effects, such as diabetes and heart disease, that are normally associated with that kind of diet. The mice still got fat, but they stayed healthy.
Resveratrol & Athletic Endurance
In December of 2006 the scientific journal Cell published a study from researchers from the Institute of Genetics and Molecular and Cellular Biology in Illkirch, France, which reported that resveratrol doubled the athletic endurance of lab mice, controlled weight gain, and prevented diabetes.7

There are no known side effects. As with most dietary supplements, until specific research is conducted, this product should not be used by pregnant or lactating women.
